In South Korea the predominant religions are Buddhism and Christianity, surprisingly a large group of the population (50%) are not religious. Korean Confucianism has strongly influenced both faiths. 31% of South Koreans are Christian (Protestant 20%, Roman Catholic 11%), 17% are Buddhist and others adhere to various minority religions including Jeungsanism, Daesun Jinrihoe, Cheondoism, Taoism, Confucianism and Won Buddhism. A smaller minority of Koreans also profess Islam.
