Geoje is separated into 4 distinctive areas similar to that of a flower.
In Geoje North, there are the suburbs of Deokpo, Yeoncho-myeon, Jangmok-myeon, Hacheong-myeon.
In Geoje East, there are the suburbs of Aju-dong, Jangseunpo, Neungpo, Irun-myeon and Jisepo.

Zip line over 450m of water and across the beach in Deokpo. No reservation needed. Children up to a certain height or age, must be accompanied by an adult.  There are also weight restrictions for those who wish to go tandem.

This small farm/petting zoo is run by Somang Disabled Center. Care of the animals (including deer, ostrich, potbelly pig, dogs, goats, pony, rabbits, ducks etc) is part of the work program for adults with disabilities. Entrance fee is by donation (suggested KRW5,000-10,000 per family).

The farm offers free entrance. Children can meet and feed a variety of farmyard animals, including rabbits, sheep, raccoons, birds, deer, goats, ponies etc. A basket of animal feed can be purchased from KRW3000. This is a cash only business, or bank transfer.  

JANGMOK-MYEON

MAEMI CASTLE

This fortress was built by Baek Sun-sam, losing his farm due to typhoon Maemi (2003) he decided to build Maemi Castle. Now open to the public, visitors can walk around the area, take photos and visit cafes. Children can enjoy playing on the mongdol beach and exploring the fortress. The area is very popular with tourists, parking is limited. You can access this area easily using the 2000 BUS.

Located near Geoga Bridge, the resort has a children’s Entertainment Zone. There is a trampoline park, Pororo cafe, Brick Lego cafe, and an art cafe. For families there are indoor, outdoor waterparks as well as a SPA and wellness center.

On arrival present your ARC card for a Geoje residents discount. After paying the entrance fee you can walk through the Bamboo Adventure Park. Nice undulating trails and stairs. Not stroller friendly!  At the Bamboo Adventure Park there are three adventure courses. Suitability depends on height.

For the children’s course, the child needs to be taller than 110cm. For the most advanced course you need to be taller than 150cm. If under the age of 16 the participant needs to be accompanied by an adult. A great family experience.

LITTLE CHAPLIN PLAY CAFE

This new café has many play features for children of all ages (up to 10), which include a trampoline and zip line area, kitchen and car play area, construction pit and a ball pit.  It caters for parties and provides food on site.  They don’t have English translation of their menu but the girl behind the cashier speaks good English. There is a car park underneath the building but only accommodates about 8 cars, there is parking spot on the street as well.

BELLE ANGE CAFE

Available by reservation only. There are many experience available at the cafe from bubble water play, theme art to performance play. Your children can also just visit and play for an hour.

JANGSEUNPO, NEUNGPO

YANGJIAM ROSE AND SCULPTURE PARK – NEUNGPO

This park is extensive and a wonderful place to take walks anytime of year. In Spring, when the cherry blossoms bloom, the main road to the park is closed so visitors can enjoy walking and taking photos.
In the Rose garden, spring and summer are best times to visit, as the hills are covered in a multitude of flowers. As you continue to walk into the park you will find various modern stone and metal sculptures are displayed in this park. Popular with Korean families for picnics, easy walking, spring flower gardens and ocean views. At the end of the park is the start trail to the Yangjiam Lighthouse hike which is not to be missed.

Found on the 3rd floor of Hanaro market. Having an amusement park feel, there is soft playground, trampoline, cedar sand box, ball pit and video games available. There is also a play studio for hairdressers and doctors. Children need to wear non-slip socks.

SHIPBUILDING MARINE MUSEUM – JISEPO

The Shipbuilding Marine Museum, right at the waterfront in Jisepo, is well worth a visit. The museum itself is interesting, but their indoor play area can be appreciated by the entire family. Together with your child, you can try to navigate a ship, learn about weights of different objects or just play. To visit the play area you only pay the museum entrance fee, ticket for fishing village next door is also included on it. Don’t forget to present your ARC to get ticket discount. Outside the museum is a Turtle Ship, a traditional Korean battle ship. A nice day out in any weather.

This Seaworld has Dolphins and Belugas. There is an indoor show where you can watch through huge glass windows as a diver enters the pool and interacts with the animals.  The outdoor show features performing dolphins. There are packages which you can purchase which include having your picture taken with the animals, as well as entering the pools and swimming with the animals.  See the website for more specific details and prices.

JISEPO FORTRESS AND GARDEN

Jisepo Fortress was built in the Joseon Dynasty to protect against pirates, it was captured during the Japanese invasion (1592). The fortress was converted in to a herb and flower garden in 2019. With the help of the local villagers, the fortress has been planted with flowers that bloom through all the seasons. The walk to the fortress is over 1km long and through the small village. It would be best to wear closed shoes as the trail can be slippery at times.

Geoje Panorama Cable Car is a 1.56km long cable car that connects Hakdong Pass to the top of Nojasan Mountain (565m). From the upper observatory, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Nojasan Mountain and the Archipelago without boundaries. 10 crystal cabins out of a total of 45 cabins have glass floors, so you can feel as if you are walking through the forest of Nojasan. Bring your Residence card and recieve a KRW 4000 discount.

Perfect for rainy days, this large indoor space is where children can experience and learn all about fish, birds and plants. They have over 40 types of parrots, 30 kinds of tropical fish, guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits.

WINDY HILL

Windy hill is a top tourist spot to visit in Geoje. Built in 2009, the site has been filmed in numerous K-dramas. A nice walking trail that goes through the village and onto the cafes. This is also a port to catch a tour around Haegumgang Island.

If you need some adrenalin, choose between 2 tours on this 14 seater high speed jet boat. The courses go around Haegeumgang island. Course A is approximately 15 minutes, Course B is approximately 25 minutes. Pricing varies from KRW 17,000 TO KRW 33,000. Reservations can be made on the Pangpang Website.

Agnes Park was created by Agnes Susan, located in Geoje Island in 1975, together with local artists.  Converting an old seafood processing factory of 12,000 pyeong, the park, cafe, villa and gallery were created as a unique theme park where nature and art breathe.  The park also has villas and a pool available to use in the summer months.

A converted school in Dundeok-myeon, this playground is a learning experience for children about what energy is and how it can be produced using alternative methods to burning coal.
