Some of the main franchised chains include Cafe Bene, Angel-in-Us, Cafe Pascucci, Cafe Tiamo, Hollys Coffee, Starbucks, Cafe Tiamo, Dal Komm, A Twosome Place and Ediya Coffee.
There are now also many independent coffee shops on the island. Here is a small selection.

> TRADITIONAL TEA HOUSES
With the rise in popularity of coffee shops in Korea, there has been a decline in the number of traditional tea houses. There are four types of traditional teas in Korea: green tea, medicinal herb tea, fruit-based tea and grain-based tea. Ginger tea, ginseng tea and medicinal tea are all made with medicinal herbs or other traditional ingredients. Fruit-based teas include jujube tea, citron tea, schisandra berry tea, quince tea and plum tea. Grain-based teas include adlay tea and barley tea. Teas from dried flowers or leaves are made by boiling the flowers or leaves for 3-5 mins. Teas from fruits, roots or bark are brewed for 10-30 mins.
